I am also interested in recent tariffs you are presenting to your customers.
In conversations with webdesigners recently I feel like it is getting harder to sell your websites. I understand that it so easy nowadays to build a website, even with a cms (phpwcms), that the market is overflooded with webdesigners. So prices are going down.
What are your experiences?

yes it is easy to create website, but still look at how many are badly made. i know in the u.s. there are a lot of bad "designers" charging outrageous amounts for horrible work. since i visit mostly u.ss sites, i feel the quality in u.s. sites has gone down. when i vist a european site, they are usually much better designed and the flow is much better, very clean with efficient code. the sites in the "proud of" section are beautiful compared to a lot of u.s. sites.
maybe you should try to acquire work from the the u.s., but don't bother coming over, bush has screwed it up pretty good for us here, makes me want to move to canada sometimes...
i guess it would probably come down to the euro/dollar exchange...

Hi Bob,
the prices vary from what they ask you to do and WHO asks (lets be realistic here).
An example:
Easy made site, phpwcms template not so difficult, design accepted quickly, functionnalities ok (menu, images, etc...)
Say... 5 days of work = 40 hours
Tipically, you'll find different prices from town to town and country to country
As for a real life example, in Brussels (and Belgium generally) they charge 50 EUR (excl. taxes) an hour for designing/coding. Ex: If the NATO or Shell asks, you charge more if they are ok (say: they impose certain conditions, deadlines, coding, etc...), if its a local not for profit organization and they don't have that kind of money, you discuss it and 50% (or less or more) off, if it's family and friends you say: I'll do it but
don't ask for deadlines
Cheers
