fcms v0.5 dev three hour experiment - www.madrac.com

by Fulvio Romanin
while i'm still developing the complete, template-based fcms v0.5, i made this site tonight in 3 hours with the fcmsv0.5 dev (with incomplete features) for my next CD that will be released in early november (first single free for download on 25.08, though)

again, the site is http://www.madrac.com
again, yes, the site content is backed up by phpwcms, so there it goes for menu and stuff.

the REAL fcms will be released possibly in 3 weeks, after dev has ended.
I will release it open source, of course. It will require intermediate-advanced actionscripting skills to use. You need to know flash, sorry. :(

i would *MUCH MUCH MUCH* appreciate if you'd leave me your opinion on the site on madrac.com's message board. Will ya?

new features of fcms v0.5

- low flash projector size (this site is around 50k)
- integrated tween libraries
- automatic text parsing, you can have external and "internal" links; therefore you don't need to have "one menu voice - one page" flash sites, you can add all pages like a normal html site (site is browsable like a normal html site! not much seen in flash)
- automatically sized and eased text part with automatically properly sized
scrollbar
- integrated xml mp3 player with playlist controlled via file list content part in phpwcms
- template-based look; you define changes in your flash look at each level on a separate file, so you can have look changing at any time, independently
- flash projector resizing according to content (yeps, like http://www.pdk.pl)

and much more... damn, again 6am

last thing: please don't think i'm vain, but there are some thank you's i want to make for all these things that are happening around phpwcms on these days.

so thanks to:
Luca Malisan, Diego Betto, Gabriele Venier, Jsw_nz, OliG (!), Gary "Vgslag" Riches, Alan "Shiznit" Macdonald, Philippe Lambotte, Karl "mjau-mjau" Ward, Carlo Daffara, Dr.Swank, Kosse, http://www.sofake.com for inspiration for this site and everyone else...

As usual, Fulvio did it again!

The template part (no need o reload) is really awesome!
Should inspire and attract to phpwcms - oop sorry FCMS ;) - a lot of Flash dev guys! Finally they will get a fully featured -open source - backend for their impressive animations. This is a new step towards heavy teamworking in building sites, imagine some design-php-AS freaks joining in and using it! With their combined skills -time will tell- we'll see GREAT achievements, I bet on that!

Hip hip Fulvio!
Cheers

As for the thanks, I only said some words like "go for it" Fulvio, too much credit putting me on the list, I only expect vow (Philippe) to be able to give a real hand sometime

Hi Fulvio,

nice job.
one little tips:
put the flash quality to best for smooth render of your picture.
(_quality="best")

So where can we find 5.0 of fcms. You should have a website for it or something. I'm really interested in it. If you could, can you please email me the latest version and keep me up to date.

Thanks,
Faren :)

v0.5 is missing one final point which will be - hopefully - completed next week, so if God helps (and Luca and Gabriele too...) by the end of next week the new template-based version of fcms will be released. Since it's quite actionscripting-heavy (it's not drag-and-drop, remember...) i am planning to do an "instructional video" to teach how to use it.

To keep yourself up to date, just get back into this forum and watch this space

Peace
