Additional ordering of assigned articles

I have a need to sort by ending date.
This would be helpful with my calendar of events.
Currently I move articles manually.
I suppose I could set the start date a year before the end date if it is an article that needs to be posted within a timeframe. But sort by ending date would be ideal.
Just a thought.
