i still using Release 1.1-RC4 27-08-2004 for my site http://www.urbanpoor.or.id(in indonesian), upgrade to newer release will be pain in the ass since there's no real multilanguage features.

) I think this can answer a good part of your prayers:

It is quite simple to implement once you've got it.
Just need to:
1° follow procedures for upgrading from 1.4RC to 1.2.X DEV (cfr forum)
2° for your mutlilanguage support, have same site structure in all languages with the en_ thing.
