I made the website
http://www.vrijeschool-meppel.nl. I submitted the website to dutch and international search engines.
Now when I search with ilse.nl/vinden.nl/yahoo.com/alltheweb.com/altavista.com/msn search on the keyword "vrije school meppel" I am on top of the list. So it seems my website is optimized for search engines.
But! Only google does not show me on top of the list, I am only on page 3. Does anybody know how this can be? I am no 1 on all search engines except google. How can I change this?

correct your url
from:
http://www.vrijeschool-meppel.nl.
to:
http://www.vrijeschool-meppel.nl
Wait some days...
Better: give your site much more content...
Put the "mainwords" into the headers and titels of your site...
wait...

something I don't known before:
Google isn't interested in your metatags.
Much more in related words and a frequent update of the page.

The correct url is:
http://www.vrijeschool-meppel.nl
I did a typing mismatch, sorry.
I have the words "vrije school meppel" included in all headers on the main pages. So that should not be a problem.
According to the google toolbar my page ranking seems ok and is as high as other websites that are no 1 in the list.
I read that google keeps new websites in sand box mode, meaning that in the first half year you won't be number 1 yet. I submitted my site only in may 2005, so perhaps I have to wait a couple of months?

Better is, to have the
search phrases inside the content, not only in the html head.
If you have it 2 or 3 times on the
same page it's better than 1 time!
Try it... and you will see, what happens!
But realize, the visitors are searching for
real content and not for phrases

All most when you search word from domain it should get you first rank on top of the list. It doesn’t mean site is optimized for search engines – it just normal if you search word from domain.
I’m sure if you search “phpwcms” from domain
http://www.phpwcms.de, then you get
http://www.phpwcms.de top of the list.
Also, never use domain word as key word or title in meta tag, it not necessary at all.

Try link building. Get other related websites to link to you. Google likes link backs. Link back are link going to your website.
