Need help installing ImageMagick and GhostScript on a server

I have installed the phpwcms on the server. It seems to be working fine. I need help installing the ImageMagick and GhostScript on the server. Is there a simple step by step installation file I can use (like the one for phpwcms)?

I use Windows XP on my computer. But I'm not sure what my web server is using. I think they are using apache server.

Do you have the right to install software on the webserver - your computer is not relevant for that

I have the right to upload files via FTP. But they don't want uploading executable files.

Then you don't have to think about how to install ImageMagick/GhostScript. Ask your provider whether they support this.

Use image replacement tags to use images without ImageMagick.

I have just found out that my provider supports Imagick and accoring to him, it is already installed. But they don't support GhostScript.

Now, do I need to set something up in phpwcms to access the Imagick?

Also, another side issue. Do I need to install a patch for the phpwcms?

Try uploading an image to phpwcms file manager. If you can see a thumbnail after uploading everything is fine.

No patch neccessary if you have downloaded the current release file. Patch packages are only for updating the last version before current release.

Request your provider for GhostScript support too. But if you do not use PDF, PostScript, EPS or Adobe Illustrator files it not needful.

Ok, I uploaded a few files via ftp in to the phpwcms_ftp folder on the server. Then I used ftp takeover to load it into the phpwcms_filestorage/1 folder. Now they are available to use in the articles.

filestorage user folders are not interesting to phpwcms users. Use the content types to handle access to uploaded files: images, file download, multimedia.
