Hi all,

the last days I get again and again this well known phpBB error on a blank white page:
phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database
What is the reason for this error: There can't be too many people accessing the forum (at this time there are 6 guys here). Are there too many forum entries in the database or what?

How can I solve this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Hi frold,

the phpwcms bugtracker at http://www.phpwcms.de/mantis has the same problem at the same time:
phpwcms bug tracking

APPLICATION ERROR #400
Database connection failed. Error received from database was #1040: Too many connections

Please use the "Back" button in your web browser to return to the previous page. There you can correct whatever problems were identified in this error or select another action. You can also click an option from the menu bar to go directly to a new section.

Strange!! We should inform Oliver Georgi that he has to raise the maximum count of DB connections... :-(

Hi pico,

I tried to post a message to the forum today and it took me half an hour to do this because I always got the phpBB critical error

The tracert to phpwcms.de goes to schlund + partner, which is a german hoster. Maybe they have problems with their infrastructure ?

Hi all,

I inspected this problem the last days and with me this problem always occurs between 08.00 and 09.00 o'clock. Is it possible that Schlund does make a backup of its systems in this time range?

Especially today I wasn't able to call the forum for a time range of 45 minutes... :-(

How can we solve this problem?

Meanwhile we have almost 3200 members here in this forum and the number of members raises and raises... :-)

Hi all,

and again no access to the forum. Now it is 10.19 o'clock... After the 20th try I could enter the forum :-( :-(

What does Schlund at this time? A database backup with exclusive access or something?

What about a provider change?? The number of members increases...

Hi all,

in the meantime it is annoying! Constantly there is no access to the forum... :-(

What does Schlund to at this time?

OG: Can you please ask at Schlund what is the reason for the many blackout of the forum?

Thanks in advance.

Hi zusammen,

mittlerweile nervt es! Regelmäßig ist kein Zugriff auf das Forum möglich... :-(
