Here's a new site based on some technical white papers for a new concrete product: http://www.gbtechnologiesllc.com. It makes for some good bedtime reading. :D

Nice and clean. I'm sure the client is happy. It looks really well done.

I have a question for you - you used .phtml instead of .php - I'm pretty new to .php and Content Management, and am trying to pick up as much as possible.

Why did you use .phtml, and what benefits / differences does that offer? Also, how were you able to utilize the content created / managed by phpWCMS with it?

I know this is kind of an odd place to ask such a thing, I'm just curious.

thanks

Hi Ben,

well done...

But the lines are much to long! Very difficult to read!

Would't it be nice, to have some photos (or white space), to shorten them somewhat?

@ elmerone

Thanks for your kind words. The .phtml is realized by changing _.htaccess to .htaccess and enabling url re-writing in conf.inc.php by setting $phpwcms["rewrite_url"] to 1. To be honest with you, I don't even know what phtml stands for. I'm sure google would have a quick answer for us. I'm not quite sure what you mean when you say, "Also, how were you able to utilize the content created / managed by phpWCMS with it?"

@ pepe

Thanks for your kind words, as well. I agree that the lines are long, which is why there are wide left and right sidebars on most of the pages. It would have been nice to have a photo of each person on the page that you referenced. I guess I could have split that page into 2 columns with 3 bios on the left and 2 on the right.

The client is very happy, so I probably won't end up changing the columns, though.

Wow! I like it, i like it a lot!

Just one question, was it neccessary to using phtml? or could you do it with normal php? whats the real reason with going to the effort for phtml?

Thanks :)

Thanks, Gaz. Here's a thread related to your question - http://www.phpwcms.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7729. It's really no trouble at all to turn on re-write functionality. You just enable it in the config and remove the underscore from the front of .htaccess. I prefer my urls to be .com/alais.phtml instead of .com/index.php?alais.

Nice done Ben!
I guess I could have split that page into 2 columns with 3 bios on the left and 2 on the right.
If u know what to do :P
The client is very happy, so I probably won't end up changing the columns, though.
But when clients are happy, they... are! Isn't it what we're supposed to aim for? ;)

Btw,
It's really no trouble at all to turn on re-write functionality. You just enable it in the config and remove the underscore from the front of .htaccess. I prefer my urls to be .com/alais.phtml instead of .com/index.php?alais.
Cyaneo found a nice (and easy) way to rewrite with html... look here:
