article list of a different category

Hi to all,
I'm managing to create a newspaper website with phpwcms. I created differnt sub-categories each one concerning differents topics.
The article list works perfectly on a particular category, but I do need to have a list of the last articles inserted on each category, on the homepage, not only a list done with {NEW:5} replacement tag, but a list with a little image (already uploaded) and the summary of the article, as is the summary of a aprticular category.
Is it possible to create that kind of preview on the homepage?
