Wow! it is a really cool CMS!

Hi all,
I recently stumped across this CMS when i was browsing thru http://www.phpfreak.com trying to learn some more PHP. After installing this and test driving it, i couldn't believe how logical and user friendly this CMS is to develop and use. It has the flexibility and power that a CMS should have (hopefully, as this is only my first impression). It really stands out above the rest. So hats off to the developers and contributors of phpWCMS
I have used many other ones- Drupal, XOOP, different versions of PHPNuke and Mambo and even though they are good, none has the ease of use as this one does. However, one thing i do like about these other CMSes i have just mentioned is the ability to bridge or integrate other web applications and CMS and making it work together. Apart from that i see a future with phpWCMS but to stay with one CMS (getting tried of using so many), i have some questions to ask before committing myself:
- A question to ask long term users. How scalable is this CMS? ie, how many articles, catergories, contents and etc can it handle?
- What other features are planned for the next release. Or is there a roadmap of the developement somewhere on this site?
- Are there any hacks for integrating other CMS, Blogs and forum into phpwcms?
- Even though some of the features on the admin panel are excellent but some times they are not required or there may be other better program that users would like to integrate and use instead. A good example is what already exist on phpwcms, such as the wysiwyg editors where you can switch between them. I'll like to see this for newsletters component where i can choose between the standard phpWCMS or Dada Mail, as an example.
- Just a thought, will it be a good idea to have pre-packaged phpWCMS. What i mean is- have a standard version (like the current one available to download) and others versions which are pre-packaged so you have the base to start building particular site, ie, a pre package version with sufficient modules and component ready for a travel site/ecommence/game portal/shopping portal/news/music/blogs. Maybe start a forum for the community to post such pre-packaged phpwCMSes (kind of like offering templates).
Here are some questions probably relating to the lack of docs for the new version phpwcms_1.2.3-DEV and i understand this is not anyone's fault but time. So here are some questions i like to know (they are scatted around the forum but it has been easy trying to locate some of the answers).
- Maybe, it would be good to split up the forum into English and German?
- I like to create some custom replacement tags, which files do i have to alter?
- In the old docs it says the the newsletter is not yet functional, is this now functioning in 1.2.3-DEV release?
- what is the forum in admin panel? is this only for internal use?
And finally, again what a great CMS you have built and having seen other sites powered by phpwcms, i'm convince the only limitation is our own imagination
Thank you and i hope to get some replies even though some of the questions maybe silly and i do apologise if they are.
