Multimedia content after chnage no working anymore

When I add a Multimedia content in a page with an internal source file, you see the filename and it works fine.
When you edit the content again the internal source file gets an ID number.
If you then make an update or save&close the Multimedia content is not working anymore.
When you then change the ID number to the file again it works again.
Does somebody has a solution for this?

John

Hi jcools,
Guessing that this will get resolved in next release. I think Oliver is well aware of this, and likely has a great fix and a 'them some' coming...since he is using the swc (component) tag for Flash storage. I have been unable to use wmv files as well (121).
Sorry I couldn't be of any help, perhaps others have figured out a fix of this in the meantime......would be most interested in such.
Cheers....

Hi
try to turn off the caching of phpwcms in conf.inc.php
Code: Select all
$phpwcms["cache_timeout"] = 0; //default cache timeout setting in seconds - 0 = caching Off

thanks for the reply's.
When I trun off the caching the result is the same.
Internal number and not active anymore.
First time it works when you edit the content it gets an internal number again and it doesn't work anymore. Replace the internal ID with the real file again and it works.
Hopefully in a next release or patch this will be fixed.

John

Would be nice if this bug / situation could be fixed. I am developing a site in 122 and just learned they want to include Flash video on the site. Since dev122 has this problem of working with multimedia content parts..looks like I have to go back to 1.1 and reconstruct the site.... Not looking forward to this... Only wish I had better luck fixing this....the code is pretty complex (at least for my level).....hoping that Oliver gets around to this.
....but unfortunately there are only 24 hours in a day.....

Question, why not use one of the following methods...as a work around the bug
- include as HTML content part or
- use the {PHP:include/flash.file} tag.
hope this helps.

Hi Trip,
Yes, was thinking about various workarounds, and certainly that is a legitimate one.....might be able to pass a paramter to choose a given file and include width and height (is a requirement).....and then have the script output all the proper swf tags and so forth. Another option is to use html content part, place the code there and call a javasript popup window....script for movie controller (if needed) ...so I am weighing my options......
Just hoping the internal Wcms version can be fixed at some point.
I think OliG has a strategy in place, since he is saving swf's as swc's (components) in file manager

when i upload swf file into filemanager (over ftp) i can't see the swf in the filebrowser.
I've added
OR f_ext='swc' in line 192 filebrowser.php and it works now. but it's the same problem as described above, after editing contetpart there is the id and i need to include it again.
will this be fixed?

hi,
tested your problems to know about.
put flash as multimedia contentpart and get this when wanted to reedit:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_SL in /www/htdocs/xxxx/include/inc_lib/content/cnt9.takeval.inc.php on line 24
using 1.2.5 release and latest CVS update from 22.00 this day.
any hints?

check your file - in line 24 is just a comment
maybe your CVS upgrade did something wrong...
