well, the subject already said, what I want ;)

Is it possible to display an article-list in the navigation, or perhaps somewhere else (but not in the main-box)?

HI

for that you can use the Content Anywhere Function in Vers. 1.2.1 - there you can build your own areas for the Layout.

I'm not sure if you have missed the question ofr if i have...
I read the question to be asking if the aritcles could be listed in the navigation as subcategories...
  • Category 1 (closed)
  • Category 2 (open)
    • Sub Cat 1 (open)
      • Article 1
      • Article 2
      • Article 3
    • Sub Cat 2(Closed)
    • Sub Cat 3 (Closed)
  • Catergory 3 (closed)
The point of the Question is that the article list is not show in the {CONTENT} (or anywhare else) rather only the first article is show in full (equivalent to layout: -1) and ALL articles appear as sub nav links in the menu.

If this IS the real question then no :( sorry, thisis not possible in any version AFAIK.

If this is not the real Question then I'll get my coat and go now

Do I understand correctly that the above menu-structure isn't possible: putting article-titles in the menu as links to the articles??! In that way you could avoid defining extra and unneccesary structure items.

yup you are correct in asumming that the example I gave is not possible and there is not a way that I know of that will avoid creating extra categories... BUT... they cost nothing so why be so thrifty with them :)

you could consider alternative navigational methods such as the ones mentioned above eg.. a catgory nav tag {NAV_...} and an article menu/list set to appear in a given block placing {LEFT/Right/Custom etc..}
