hi there, i have some questions. i hope yoou can help me

1. temporarily i make my page locally on my hd with WAMPP. where can i find the finished php files?

2. i read that there might be problems with graphics. i made some with adobe photoshop and saved them as jpg, gif an png. in spite of that i have errors with the displying of the images. what can i do to eliminate them?

3. a friend asked me to create a page for him. is there any possibility to host and administrate 2 different pages with WAMPP an phpwcms?

4. is it possible to create folders for each of these sites not to lose the overview?

thx for answering.

Hi

1. the 'files' of the Content are in the SQL-Database and not as seperate Files on your System.

2. there are some Threads for different Problems with Images - so give more Informations about your specific Problems

3+4 Best way is to make 2 Installations in two different Subdirectories with two seperate Databasetable.

thx pico for the fast answer.

i thought of an installion with 2 subdirectories. i will do it now. point 1, ok. i thought the php files will be shown as 'real' files anywhere in the main directory. but thats ok.

to point 3.

i took a jpg with my face and crop it with photoshop. then i saved it for web as jpg, gif and png. when i put it into phpwcms and wanna see if it works i got 2 different problems.

either the pictures was shown only half and the rest grey or green or the picture wasnt shown and me was told that the picture includes errors. i dont know how to fix it although the original picture is shown with acdsee without any errors.

Hi again

to your Problem with the Pictures I have no Idee - never had this Problem - but maybe you try another Software for this like Fireworks - but I use always Photoshop resp. ImageReady without any Problems.

The rights in Win98 I can't remember - but in XP with NTFS you have to set in the Explorer -> Extras -> Options 'extended Filesharing' to on. Than in Filesharing you can set rights for every Folder - but in W98 I'm not shure that it will work with FAT32 in any way.
