Creating a static always expanded nav col menu

Pardon me if this has been addressed before but i've just spent over two hours in the last few days searching. Yeah, the search brought up something link 870+ posts. Anyway...

Is there a way to make the nav column menu stay expanded. I have six sections, and 4 have subsections and I would like all the subsections (one level down to be visible all the time.

I saw the method of using intergers for each level and hard coding it in, but it seems like then you would wind up with duplicates along the way. I thought I had seen a while back a way to just keep it expanded.

Anyone have any suggestions? or can point me in the right direction?

I have not seen any solution, I think you need to make it your self...

hello

try to use the
{NAV_TABLE_COLUMN:integer} tag. but thid means that you will split up the navigation!
