Jo, die Seite einer meiner Kunden ist eben fertig geworden und da ich es mit phpwcms gemacht habe, möchte ich die Euch keines Falls vorbehalten:

http://www.bbs-technik-koblenz.de/page

Executter

Not too bad but as usually make the width so it fits the surfers with 800 x 600 too

They all (allmost 50%) hate the side scrolling.

no. the standard is 1024x786.
in every statistic you can see it. most of users got this resolution.

maybe in america and/or england 800x600 is standard. but the side is for germany only ;)

I live in Sweden :P Yes you are right with the standard is 1024x786 and I said it is 50% use 800 x 600

that's not true, it's 37% http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

If you make your website for the resolution of 1024x786 and don't care for 800 x 600 you have a third surfers that you lose at once when they need to side scroll.

Is that worth it ?

My Customer don't care about the resolution...
it doesn't matter..

all my websites are designed for 1024... and if the user got an lower resolution... he must scroll... the end.

I make all my websites for my clients also for 1024x786, but I always look so there is no side scroling in 800 x 600.

Why should you not do that ? Why do you make a website and don't care of the third of surfers ?

because the place of content is much bigger...
arghhhh... i don't want to make a discussion in this thread...

i want positive reactions about the website ^^

Its not the size that matters.

How can you ask what we think about the website if you only want positive response ??

Don't you want to know what we think of the website ?

Why bother to ask if you can't take both negative and positive response ?

That was really stupide

I want positive response.
Negative response is very good to optimize upcomming projects.

And I will remind if I start the next project, about the resolution ;)
But it don't change any think of my target... to get much positive response...
arghhhh dosn't matter... it's 4:30 am ... i'm tiered ^^

I agree with Jari. Almost 40% of unsers with 800x600 is too large a number for me to ignore. If it was 5% I woudn't care.
It really does not look that great in 800x600. So for 40% something not looking great is not good enough.

now don't only blame the resolution ...

??? what does that mean?? I blame you.

Otherwise I think the site looks very good so far!! Well done.
The only bit I have to critisize are the Navigation arrows, which I find do not relate to any of the other design elements on the page visually.
"Sie befinden sich hier: " I find is unnecessary clutter (uppart from the fact that it is not clear on first sight whether it relates to the 'Home' on the right or to the navigation).
The word 'Navigation' and the actual navigation items should be aligned maybe.
"Created by Executter Software Solutions" link does not work.
Otherwise -as I said - nice site.

I can second that 8) I make the websites for 1024... but I always look so it looks good in 800... too.

I try to optimize the websites for both, I would never ignore the fact a third has 800...

besides the 800 wtopic wich I agree with,
the site is cool, I like it, though for an expert's eye it is PHPWCMS, no doubt ;)

The banners are nice, good integrated colors. 8)
What about the bottom line? I don't like it that much...

Can that be like more "integrated" to the page? It kinda floats to me.
Otherwise, as I said, I like it, clean, pro, technical.

Contents? Even if it is your customer's reponsability, shouldn't you "lore ipsum" it, so you can have the general view of what it looks like with contents? We know clients can be pretty "creative" :? when it comes to choose their colors or links. Then you end up with a messy design because they chose ... eer, pink links. You get my point?

Cheers :P
