Template Problem

Hello

I have create an new template specially for xmas. The Only one diffrece is the right block.
i save it.
and change the template for the index.php under admin/sitestructure.

but it won't show that when i call the page. if i change the default template it will be work.

any ideas!?

The top level (Index.php) uses the default template.
You can change the other pages' templates, by selecting one from the drop-down menu in site structure window.

Changing templates works only on sublevels. On toplevel, there is no edit button, so you cannot change the template here. If it works with the default template, so all other sublevels should not change, only new created sublevels and articles would be reflected, or I am wrong?

You are right. There is no way to select a different template for the top-level (I wish there was a way). It uses the default template. If you want to change the look of the top-level, edit the default template. If you want to change the look of a sub-level, create another template and select that template for the sub-level.
