"Picture with LINK" badly needed!

There's now lots of useful formats for articles but one very important is still missing: "Image(s) with link"!

It's not the same thing as with plain HTML pages, for here the structure is much more complicated, so the URL's for both the link and the image are much harder to find, isn't it so? Therefore making something like that in plain (or WYSIWYG) HTML is no good option.

On the other hand it should be relatively easy (not for me though ) to implement "Texts with images" format, where the "text" is a link. Or, better, part of it is a link - text containing link or maybe even links.

I'ts not that I'm sitting and trying to find what's missing in phpWCMS. In fast I'm (slowly) building my site and there I would like to give people lots of things, mostly ebooks, for download. So there should be lots of clickable covers - enything else is unnatural...

Another use for this format would be banners, buttons and such, though it's not so important to me right now. But please, let somebody implement this - everybody will profit.

Yes, IƤve missed this as well. I wanted to fo clickable links for partner sites with their logos. But I have to be careful with doing that as other people don't habe HTML knowledge to update and change things. SO for the moment I only have a clickable caption under the images which ia only half as nice.

I would risk an opinion that 15% to 30% as nice. :D

Though in your case it's perhaps really not so enormous difference. but imagine putting on the front page a BIG, beautiful ebook cover, which EVERYBODY will understande as clickable, and a small link below. Tragedy, isn't it?

But you almost immediately took up this topic and we are now two - there's hope some php-guru will hear our weeping.

All the best and keep up!

Yes, but I don't want any secretary that adds stuff to the website to have to fiddle with replacement tags. Well, maybe not quite 'secretary', but it should be just in the interface so that people can just do it without having to read some manual, let alone the time it would take them to figure that out.

It should be as simple as going to the 'image' or 'text w image' conent part, choosing a picture form the library, ticking a box 'use this as a link' and then paste the URL into a field. It should just be usable for anyone!

I have the same wish with 'picture with link'. I would be happy with just an extra link field on the 'text w/image' content part. Even better is the suggestion that Spirelli gives. Just as mentioned above, to make it easy for everyone who is gonna use it...

Does someone has further thoughts about this issue?

Thx
Paul
