First of all I love the tool and I think its great. I've been using it on my site and its working out well. Thanks to everyone who develops and supports it.

I have been lurking the forums and I can't seem to find clear answer to this question.

Why are there 2 different places to add/use images? I think maybe I am missing something. If I want to use the replacement tag {IMAGE:coolimage.gif} It works out best if I put the image in the /picture dir. The only way I have found to do this is via the "Insert Image" function in the WYSIWYG article editor. If I want to add an image with a caption the only way I have seen to do this is via the File Manager and then pick the image using file dialog next to the "Image: " fied. Is there some way I can make the picture directory available via the File Manger. I would be nice if the "Insert Image" and Image: field could both take images from the same location.

Currently its very confusing for my users on when to add files to the picture directory and when to add them in the file manager. I would like to have the picutre dir accessable from both the file manager and the WYSIWYG article editor.

The wysiwyg editors are for inserting the literal images that are uploaded through them or via ftp. They do not allow for determining the file size, as inserting an image via the built-in functionality of WCMS. Implementing the built-in file managers into the wysiwyg editors is something that has been discussed here in the forums, although does not appear to be a priority. I feel that if you have already re-sized the images properly before uploading them, then you may want to upload them via the wysiwyg editors. But, the built-in file manager automatically re-sizes images on the server and manages keywords and descriptions, which is great for novice users who want to "upload images from a digital camera and insert them on their website." My suggestion is this: decide if your users are savvy enough to handle the wysiwyg editor or not and use one solution or the other. If they aren't savvy enought, I would only reserve the {IMAGE ... tag to use in templates.

Is it possible to modify what the default dir or add another dir to the wysiwyg editor so when writting an article you could have access to both the picture directory and the file manager image directory.

I'm not computer idiot (I run gentoo linux as my main OS), nor am I a graphics idiot (I run GIMP and blender nearly every day for image editing/creation) and I have to say using the file manager makes things so much easier and quicker than doing it by hand. Quality really isn't much different either, and if you use imagemagick it's even better.

I'll end using both however, whichever one produces the best look on the site itself is the one I'll end up using for any given article.
