Replacement Tags and Template functions

Post by jmcontardo »

It would be nice if a more powerfull replacement tag system could be implemented. I think something easy to use and install such as TinyButStrong Template System http://www.tinybutstrong.com

I feel that Oliver has developed an excellent replacement tag system, and it would be counter-productive to take steps backward to implement a new system. What would be beneficial in the backend of PHPWCMS would be to add some javascripting in a dropdown box, for instance, where it would list all of the replacement tags. Upon selecting a replacement tag, it would insert it into the template textbox at the location of the cursor - complete with variable definitions, such as {NAV_LIST_TOP:NameOfTheWebSiteIndex:ClassName}. With this addition, there would be a simple repository of replacement tags within PHPWCMS, and user's wouldn't have to search the forums to remember a particular tag and it's syntax. Just my suggestion ...
