Error while trying to connect to table ""

This is what I get after installing on my local server. What could be the cause?
Das war der Fehlermeldung bei eine Neuinstallation auf einen localen Server. Was könnte den Grund sein?

Hello
Please check your db setting in file (include/inc_conf/)conf.inc.php.
also did you upload the conf.inc.php file what will create at the end of the installation!?

Already found the problem. conf.inc.php started with <? instead of <?php . My local server did no accept that and did not see it as PHP code. No database info, therefore no connection. As far as I know this was the code either generated by the setup program or it was downloaded like this. I also noticed some other errors in the setup program.
Schon den Fehler gefunden. conf.inc.php hat mit <? angefangen nicht mit <?php.

there is no error in the setup routine. if you will out all needed fieldes the setup generates an conf.inc.php wich you will need to upload to the include/inc_conf/ folder.
yes say it's local!? did you run the setup under windows!?

No, it was Linux RH8, PHP running as a mod under Apache.

It must have been my mistake. I must have deleted the php by hand. It is working OK now.
