Hello, I would like to know what files I need to update from version 1.2.6 to the latest version. Can anybody advice? Where can I find the files that I need?

you need the newest version only.

And please have a look:
- Install
- Update

Thank you Mr. Flip-Flop, Although your explaination is quite detailed, I think it's a complicated process. Can't I just backup files and db then overwrite the files with ftp but keep the conf.inc.php and then do the update process? Till now I did some updates on Joomla 1.5 and that is so easy!

Yes, you can do this also, however, on this way a lot of old files that may represent a security risk will remain - just as in Joomla. (No one talks about it loud.....)
