suggestions for domain-structure?

i wonder which would be the best suggestion for structuring site....

normal site under www. (top of domain) ....

wcms in a wcms.domain subdomain

forward requests from top to sub.index.php

forward in wcms-domain to login.php

what do you think? how do you do it?
