Thanks, but there is no option in the admin for the newsletter. Should it be in the left pane? (Below the templates listing?) I've already added it to a page. I even subscribed a few people no problem. But I don't see how to send an actual email out. I have RC3.
Look in the message part of Phpcms

Sending of the news letter, managing subscriptions and newsletters to subscibe to are part of the message menu item in the backend.
I still have a problem with the newsletters! When someone subscribes, no confirmation email message is send to the user so no users are validated and still a red icon in the message menu appears.

Thank you rsantifort, that is what I was looking for. I can't believe I spaced on that though, I should know better to look in the left pane when I clicked on messages, but I didn't.
I will experiment with it tonight and see if I have similar problems.

I got to say i don't find it either

i go to Admin/Message/ and find:
message center
new message
newsletter subscriptions
In newsletter subscriptions i can add a newsletter subscription but i can do nothing else. I have registered, confirmed the email and everything works fine. What am i missing?
I can't see the subscribers, i can't send newsletter... in any of the sections
I need help, and by the way i'm obviously one of those "normal" guy who manage code with copy + paste

I never looked into this until now, but I have latest RC4 which has the following in Admin->Message:
message center
new message
newsletter
newsletter subscribers
newsletter subscriptions
Creation is:
newsletter->add newsletter

Hi,
That was fast! No i'm just starting, thanks. But i got a good question, let's see if i can explain myself.
I want to mount a lot of content in the the WCMS in a hosting without domain, just with the ip, when it's ready point the DNS to the new ip so there is no down time. The guys who sold me the hosting said it would be no trouble but i can't even login to the back end. The guy who sell think very differently from the tech support. Anyway i was thinking to do all that in other domain where the WCMS is working fine: is it too hard to export the sql database to the other domain, then import it and reconfigure the WCMS once the DNS points to that hosting?? I'm i talking nounsense? I'm using RC2 also in that other place.
Sorry for the trouble

hello
good question. normally i would say only change the config. cos if i'm not wrong it's nother other than changeing the domain. am i wrong!?

I thought so too, but because of the server configuration, the cpanel thing or god know's what i can't even see a default.html doc with the ip. I have to use the ip/~username to get to see it, and i suppose that's why the WCMS dosen't work. So i'm going to take my chances exporting the DB and then importing it, well, i'm going to make the hosting guys do it.
That is possible is it??

hello tidida
phpwcms also works at ~username spaces! look for the document_root.php and set the pathes right! then it should also run!
