no upload to filearchive: "This is a fault of server!"

Hi,
using phpwcms 1.3.3 (2007/05/02). Suddenly no file upload to filearchive is possible:

Bitte nicht erneut versuchen! Dies ist ein Serverfehler! Setzen Sie sich unverzüglich mit Ihrem webmaster in Verbindung!
my translation to english: "please don't try again, fault of server. Contact your webmaster"

The fault occurs with *any* file, even files with 10 bytes size.

I've installed phpwcms on my linux box here. "df" shows disk space enought (maximum 70%), the same error occurs on my internet providers site, so I'm sure its *NOT* a server problem.

I've searched in archive of this list:

Here is the output (of my local LAMP-linux-box):
max_execution_time 30 30
memory_limit 8M 8M
upload_max_filesize 2M 2M

I moved a big pdf-file 1,7MB to /tmp so that the directory filearchive has 7.3MB instead of 9.0MB but no success: I can't load up any file (eg. file of 10bytes).

I worked last two weeks without problems. My waste bucket is empty.
Only filearchive is buggy! Adding a content part "WYSIWYG with picture" I can load up a picture (to picture/upload/ !) and all woks fine! Thats the proof that not disk space is the problem! Only filearchive is suddenly buggy!

Hi,

memory_limit 8M is definitely to small.
There is one image blasting your server memory during thumb generating.
(E.g. gdlib unpack the images to a bitmap file and tries to generate an thumb. This process is catching a lot of memory).

Update to latest version is planned next week. I need some features for customizing. But relaunch was more important. see: http://liburg.de liburg.com will be revieved next days
