Error 403 - Forbidden

Hi all,

I just wanted to set up a new page on a 1&1 Server.
I uploaded all files of pphpwcms r182 and set the rights
according to the documentation:
http://www.phpwcms-docu.de/installation ... wcms.phtml

When trying to begin the setup by opening "www.mysite.de/setup/index.php",
I get an Error 403 - Forbidden.

I have successfully installed phpwcms in the past several times, but now I'm
completely stuck. I've checked the rights four times, I set them right.

Maybe the docu is not up-to-date? What can I do?

Thanks for any help :]

The docu ist up to date, but we had a lot of issues with the 1&1 webspaces...

Unless I'm very much mistaken there was Claus who had a solution or at least a reason for this error...

Could the transfer-method of CuteFTP be the cause?
Momentarily it's set to "Auto", maybe the files get corrupted?
(Although that has never been the case before...)

Hi Toflar,

thanks for the reply, so it seems I'm not the problem in this case :)

Can you please point me to Claus' solution? I'm totally unable to
find anything in this forum, somehow the searchfunction never
delivers... :[

Hi Jensensen,

Yes, I have searched the forums before posting this,
but I have not found a single occasion where my
problem applies.

Would you care to elaborate your findings?

you are allowed to execute files ending with .php?
knit together a file named "phpinfo.php"
with this content:
<?php
phpinfo();
?>
throw it into your cms root (to be able to find it again...) and execute it. What do you see?
If you type yourdomain.de/index.php, is this the same error then?

Golden tip, Claus!

On closer examination, my customer has bought a "1&1 Homepage Basic"-Package,
which doesn't support neither PHP nor MySQL... oh man, and I've been trying things
for a couple of hours now. What a giant, solid plank right before my eyes

Thank you all!

:D
