which OS for a 64 system?

Post by update »

Is there any OS recommendation for a 64 bit system?
Needing a lot of ram I tried it with an XP64pro but I've got the strong feeling that this isn't really a stable one.. What about Vista 64bit? (Personally I don't like the flitter but this can be taken down, can't it?)
Since XPpro can't address more than 3,5 GB of ram this won't be a choice, ...
(Well, besides Linux 64 flavors ;) but I need some W... based programs)
Perhaps there is some hint by someone - would be glad to hear of you - am listening

Now building a venue for young artists to get wet on stage, rehearsal rooms, a studio, a guitar shop - yes I'm going to build some guitars.

I've been thinking about some linux for remotely organized coffee machines or even an electronic abacus would come in handy - better than what I've got now
But the (seriously meant) question remains... :x

Again a bunch of new software to buy, so by any means no option ... :| I'd rather like to get myself a new monitor ;)
