This is website I made for a client, but i think it is very heavy (large images), I'm working in a light version...
P.S. Portuguese only.

Nice stuff isac! I like sites with big pictures in them but they are getting less and less because everyone is getting afraid about the downloadtime...
Don't you worry about the DLT in this case..You have sliced them up nicely and it works. I am surfing on a 56.6 connection and I didn't have any problem at all!
I even would say that you could give the pictures higher quality to get this crisp photo-feeling..And play with the pictures on color/light/contrast to get same feeling as for 'Projectos'! That picture was perfect..
And I think your choice of pictures is good because I just have no idee what the text is all about but I think I know because of the pictures.
So they fill its purpose I assume..

No, is not.DeXXus wrote:Am I missing something... or is phpWCMS not mentioned ~anywhere~ with regard to this site? Shameful omission from the source code, in my view
Phpwcms is mentioned in the admin interface everywere, http://www.norteoeste.com/login.php
My client pays me the design but not the source code! This website still in development so the credits page it's not finished.
Take care.
It´s simple, when i bill my client he pays me layout and setup, nothing more.snobba wrote:Dexxus..You hawkeyed!

Didn't really get this...
Like I said, I will give the credits to Oliver Georgi in credits page.

I know you knows it's free, and everybody knows!!

I ~suggest~ you read the below ~carefully~

The GNU General Public License (GPL)
Version 2, June 1991
This is ~some~ of what it says about source code:
"For example, if you distribute copies of such a program, whether gratis or for a fee, you must give the recipients all the rights that you have. You must make sure that they, too, receive or can get the source code. And you must show them these terms so they know their rights"
That´s telling me something about what RESPECT you have for the code writer...snobba wrote: But then it is defenetly no need for you to put your own copyright! It is free!!

I think the issue here is if a PHPWCMS and it's copyrights are REQUIRED to be in the frontend (by OG or by GNU) or not.
I am of the understanding that no refferences to PHPWCMS, OG or the GNU lisence are obligated to be shown. However, the copyright in the lower left of the login screen and all those within the backend are obligatory.
in this instance I see nothing wrong with isac's site regarding this.
My personal thoughts are: as you can not hide the copyrights or claim the mas your own then you could shouw genuine honor and link to phpwcms.de in the frontend. as web designers we are not being paid to create a wcms but a website that uses a wcms therefor you have no reason to hide or disguise the fact that you did not write the wcms.
Having said all of this, If a client is adament that no 3rd party links or credits are to be visible on "there" site, neither your name not that of phpwcms then despite our personal thoughts as to how mean that client is they must be obeyed (after a great deal of bitching to them of course
).
IF (as is usually the case) i am wrong, please let me know

did I misunderstand something? I read you post as you are saing that he don´t need to put in copyright because phpwcms is free...That´s why I wrote that....Or what do you mean?snobba wrote:??? The statement above was to point out his double-meaning statements! Defenetly not to say that he don't need to put the copyright - the other way around. I do not know how you are reading but I just do not like to be called a respectless idiot, please read this that I just wrote a couple of days ago about the lackness of copyright on site made with phpwcms. Just to be clear of where I stand in this point!frold wrote:did I misunderstand something? snobba wrote: I think it is really SHITY when designers get this great tool for free and can even make money out of it, they at least could keep the copyright in the code, totally according to the GNU licence! That's not asking for much!
Shame on you!! (no one mentioned, no one forgotten)
Im very sorry snobba....
Plz forgive...!!
