edit article basis newbie question

Ok I am getting ready to pass off this website I’ve been working on in PHPWCMS to other content managers and i can't formulate an accurate search to find explanations for the following items when creating an article. Could anyone shine a little light on these following attributes?
edit article basis information page:
1. max. words for summary <---what ever value i enter, gets ignored
2. [more…] link <-- is this old logic that's not functional anymore
3. Click to Enlarge & Lightbox <-- does the same thing?
4. image: article listing & use article image data <-- i have these value/image filled in.. but they show no where
The only explanation i can come up with that maybe there's tags that can utilize these functions???
How can one access these values in order to use the features?
