Cre loaded, Zen Cart or oscommerce, wich one do you prefer?

Post non-phpwcms related topics here - but I don't want to see "hey check this or that other cms". Post if you have a point or worthwhile comment, don't post just to increase you post count!

Cre loaded, Zen Cart or oscommerce, wich one do you prefer?

Post by mullerrwd »

Ok, I would really want to know which e commerce script out of the poll, or something else, you prefer most and why?
I prefer cre loaded because of the flexibility and easy template developing. (either way it almost same as zencart).

Zen Cart certainly has more built-in features than osC. Admin side is better laid out too, however it is still a pig to set up and customise. Some options are set in admin, some in language definitions, some in templates, some directly in PHP files. The power is there, but persistence is required to harness it.

They are both very good solutions IMHO, although I would imagine Zen Cart should meet more merchant's requirements out-of-the-box.

I've never used CRE Loaded. How do the templates differ from Zen Cart?

We mostly use XTCommerce which is a fork of oscommerce.
It has alle the features of osc but lot's of additional functions... the support community is pretty big.
I didn't use ZENCart yet but perhaps we give it a try... but there's a huge lack of time ...

i agree as to cre and i would also add cubecart. Moving from one shopping cart to some different one is quite a task.

Now the guys have come up with a service that does it automatically - cart2cart. in case someone needs it - it's worth to try.
