How about user permissions - so that we can create users and assign them permissions on which documents they can read when they login.

that would be great! cuz if you manage your site with some friend or smth. it would be nice and not too hard to realize to give user permissions :)

I should add that I mean website users rather than article manages as I see people have already requested this - so that people may only see special offers etc when they login in or depending on their group only see info they have permission to read.

so maybe on a sales info site - create user

customers see standard sales info
resellers see special offers
partners see again special offers or info related to them
etc etc

I would hope that this works for may content sites with their own group of users.

Can I ask if this feature is planed, as I really need a user login feature - so people can view pages only when logged in and view ones based on their permissions.

OK - would there be any reason why we could not develop it as an add-on for your script?

I have an idea how to solve it - but let me first finish the newsletter function of phpwcms ;-). There is a frontend user db table used that can be extended for such frontend user login. Shouldn't be difficult.

time. time. time. is all I need

Hello together!

I'm still working on the interface. I have fineshed some week's ago (actually 2 or 3 ;)) a dynamic SSL encryption for WCMS which allows you to select by a checkbox, if the site should be secured or not. A https compatible server must be in condition, of course. I hope, that Oliver will add it to the next release, because it works pretty cool. Here are some screenshots of the Backend and Setup listed: Now I'm working on finishing the Frontend User administration, because I need it ASAP, too. Give me some time. I will have it finished before christmas. I've got the same problem as Oliver have. No time. In this moments I realize that time is the most precious thing on earth :D.

Cheers,
Florian

I do not know anything about SSL, what´s that for? do you have a link to a easy explanation of what it is at what to use it for..

And what about that encise write

Are you making that?

If I could decide I would like some differents user types:
  • Superadmin > with all rights
Admin > all rights exept templates editing / css editing
CO-admin > can create new articles and edit in existing articles. Can not add new users
Normal user > can chat / download public files / read messages and maybe if there is a internal forum they can join it.

I think SSL is "Secure Sockets Layer"
See this url for more detail.
