I'm not a flash specialist, but maybe you can work with cookies?

Thanks for your answer, this indeed seems to be a possibility, BUT the user has to accept shared files, such like cookies. maybe there is another, more user-friendly solution?

ok, flashcookies are more special, but what about normal cookies and javascript. I think that should be possible too (i see no other way to store information). Or maybe to read the phpsession?
user comes the first time see the flashmovie from the beginning and session is set.
if he klick a link watching for the session (or cookie) and jump to the defined point on flash timeline?
That's the way it could work?!
