members area

hello forum
i wanted to create a members area in the existing phpwcms website
where the members have to register first and after they do that they can will be redirected to an area where they can download any documents

is there any plugin for this work? how can I release this without the members do not have right to get into the backend?

Which mask for register I have to modify? and which login mask I have to put into the frontend of the page?

I would be glad if you can help me realise this problem. thanx.
