I want to make articles with different categories. For example: Tech. Games and Music.

I want ALL articles to be displayed on the front page. As soon as someone clicks on either the Tech. Games or Music link only articles of this category will be displayed.

Is this possible with phpwcms or should I stop trying?

If I understand correctly, yes.
With the teaser_ex tag.

Look at the calendar of events section on my website

Click on an event, it will take you to a specific category.
