language-switch with ip-adress

hi there,
is it possible to select a websiteuser - based on his ip-adress - an link him to the correct language-version of a site?

there has to be a better solution.
Phpwcms seems to already recognize the default language setting of the visitor. If someone registers using my registration panel i get a copy of the mail. and according to the users language this mail is either using the english or german text from the language file.
I will check my code again, there has to be something in about this issue. Anyways, I still guess that this is an phpwcms feature.
ALthough I even do not yet know how to use it - but there has to be a way

I think that Oliver Georgis solution is pretty much what you brauchst.
Please share your experience here. I will also test that. Maybe you are schneller.
