www.mengel-partners.com Luxury spanish villas for sale

Post by andalucia »

Hi folks,
my first try in phpwcms with simple 'standards' using the listing features of the cms.
Nearly all pictures in 1024 pixels.

I'm already working on 2 other sites with more grafic design.

Hi Klaus

1. It is a lot of text. Maybe reduce the quantity or try to better structure it with meaningful titles within the text

2. I would change the standard light green menu rollover background and create new menu icons.

3. Body text colour I would change to very dark grey. It is almost too monotone in dark blue.

4. For the language slector I would make manual link instead of the breadcrumb menu to avoid the disply of "Home". Example: <a href="index.php?english">

5. I would switch off the underlining in the menu since the colour is sufficient to highlight the choise

6. Define keywords. Altough apparently ignored my Google, many other Search engineers use them:
<META name="keywords" content="Mengel partners, real estates, spanien, spain, luxusvillen, ......etc.....">
Hast la vista !

A minor suggestion.
Move the menu down just a bit. The top line of the menu seems to be the first thing I notice. Maybe just add a <br/> befor the nav_menu

Thanks guys,
for the advises. What you don't know is that I had requirements:

- Must look like old site. They loved it in grey with blinking buttons. :-(
- Menu was different e.g "Villas" instead "Villas and detached properties"
They changed it to a 2liner...
- Key words: I already made a new html intro where all the key words are defined
- Breadcumbmenu: they wanted it, didn't like countryflags or other images to switch the languages

What can I do? They are happy with it..... and it was my first try.

Soon will come a luxury apartment/villa rental site which I can design.
Has anybody an idea of an calculation model to calculate
rental prices of different seasons?

Sunny greetings from Andalucia

andalucia,

Interesting site, especially based on the constraints and client requirements. If the client is happy ... you should be happy (especially after your first try)!

As for calculating rates based on season, I don't know how to do this. I don't want to go into detail, since this thread is about your website, but take a look at the 4th post here - http://phpwcms.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9587.

Hi Ben,
thanks. I already saw this table on this well done site.
But I'm looking for a calculation model like this.

eg.10 days:
7 of them in a 200.-/week period, 3 in a 350.-/week period
Math => 200 + (350/7*3) = 410.- plus tax 7% = _____
Some apts have a aditional cleaning fee of 50.-
Also there are special offers....
If you accept this (online) offer you can do a reservation
with price sending emails to both, owner and client.
And, of course, easy to maintain from the owner(no html edits).
I think it is maybe to much work for a tiny business like
3 villas and 10 apartments. Any ideas?
Regards
Klaus
