i'm actually thinking about having content loaded into actionscripted textfields, and apply code to load it, and to format it, and to tweak it/move it, etc., and same with images and files. Sorry if this description sounds simplistic, but i want to be clear . The most thing i'm concerned in converting is the menu and his gerarchies. It's kind of interesting the easy way which phpwcms makes/uses articles and menus. Taking content from pages should be pretty easy, converting the menus should be the most interesting thing, and possibly the thing i'm not so good at, that's why i need your help.


My largest concern is parsing the HTML tags that are used in PHPWCMS. I had a look at some of the XML exports via phpMyAdmin and it looks as though all the blob fields contain encoded HTML text, so there won't be a problem there. Although, thinking of it, it might be easier to write a set of PHP or Javascript interpreters that make a "flash usable" content section. The entire file system and structure system can be plucked directly from the MySQL tables.

don't you think it'd be enough to interpret it directly from flash?
parsing the files into flash? i'm looking right now at amfphp which i didn't knew yet...

Yet another alternative would be to use AMFPHP as an opensource Flash Remoting interface with a standardized gateway, methods and such. That way we could actually document the whole thing and also include an installer package as an "extention" to the PHPWCMS system that exsists already.

as deep as my a-little-more-than-normal programming skills may help; i'm quite serious in my decision to make this, because flash needs some strong back office to have things easily customizable. i'm planning to use most of my free time in january to make this....
...and of course i want it to be open source
