I can remember making almost exact the same hack to the spaw script earlyer when I used spaw for one of my own simple cms thingies,
good that you published it here , so I dont have to re-invent te wheel eheh..
I have several hosts, and yes some of them have the same problem,
files are uploaded but permissions are set privat.
I have had this on atleast 3 different hosts..
