more image/thumb options

As an artists I have been playing with the 'images' content part and found a few options I would like to have considered for inclusion at some point.
'content images' ABOLUTE SIZE setting.
when setting the alignment options I understand that as 'content images' are created to fit with some options I would like to have more control over this. I would like to be able to set ABOLUTE SIZE, if either width or height is not specifies then the max size applies (if set)
In addition to my first point I would like to have a check box to set whether a new thumb is created regardless if new settings would indicate a new thumb is needed (default: 'create thumb'). But WHY? so that we may edit/change the 'content images' to a different image (proxy image). e.g. a grayscale 'content image' popup when clicked to a full colour image or the 'content image' is a cropped area of the full popup image.
PROXY IMAGES. I would like to be able to use any image as 'proxy image' and set the proxy file within the images 'content part' this would be a preferable alternative to the last idea.
thanks for listening
