I have to say that I do not really care if it is free or not, it will end up on my clients bill anyway. So I would prefer that he charged a fee for a licens so I could start demanding! Because this is the one I use, free or not!

By the way, I do not know what you want to lecture about because I think people know that it is for FREE and O. is a great guy!?

Ahhh! Here we go! Talk to OG and offer him a good wage as it will end up on your clients bill anyway! But a good programmer like OG should get something like 500-1000$ per day minimum. We cant afford this so i would be happy if you do so!

Yeah, this was exactly what I wrote that I wanted. Licensed software is exactly the same as to hiring a programmer fulltime! This is how other payed CMS works!

There are so many business models OG has chosen his way! I am cool with this and actually very happy about it! I am into OpenSource and phpwcms is as good as some CMSs i reviewed that cost 10k$+!
This discussion is good for a laugh on a weekend during my working hours i have better things to do like making money so i can donate some cash to OG!

Another promise btw. release date was renege.
I'm very disappointed.

Of cause, "real" customers got a higher priority.
But don't advertise these release dates if you can't meet the deadline!
I feel kidded and I think I'm not alone... *grml*

But why you are feeling kidded?
In my opinion the date can be the next week without problem, because we are not paying for the software..of course I hope that the phpwcms2 will be out as soon as possibile, but I think is not correct to pretend too much from Oliver.
He has his life and his job too, and what we should do is to have patience and to thank Oliver for his job on this CMS.
This is just my opinion

Die Tatsache, dass er das unentgeldlich macht ist lobenswert und
auch das Produkt an sich ist unbestritten einfach spitze.

Nur seid einem halben Jahr wird hier jeder aufgeschoben.
Wenn ich meinem Kunde sage, du hast die Page nächste Woche und ihm dann sage: haha verarscht, dauert noch ne woche... und dann wieder und wieder und wieder ... der würde nicht sehr lange mein Kunde bleiben.

Wir sind natürlich in dem Sinne keine Kunden von Oliver,
nur die ständigen Release Dates die einfach nicht eingehalten werden...
also mich kotzt so was an. da bin ich jetzt einfach mal direkt und nehme kein blatt vor den Mund.

Ich hab ja nichts dagegen dass es länger dauert ein voll ausgereiftes Produkt zu veröffendlichen. Dann aber auch bitte nicht ständig diese Erscheinungstermine - damit verliert er komplett seine Glaubwürdigkeit.

Gut, ich weiß, dass das "rumnörgeln" nichts am tatsächlichen Release Date ändert...

Nur so klug finde ich die Wörter nicht.
Das eine hat mit dem anderen nichts zu tun.

Die Tatsache, dass das ganze kostenlos ist und dass es super Arbeit ist,
ändert nichts daran, dass es diese "Haha Verarscht" Release Dates gibt.

Gut. Ich kann aus den ganzen Aktionen nur lernen und ein Fazit schließen und werde jedes geschriebene Datum was hier veröffendlicht wird mit verachtung und misstraun ansehen. so wird die sich ständig wiederholende enttäuschung dezimiert.

also nun mische ich mich doch mal ein!
executter lasse mal die kirche im dorf ich sage nur rebranding!

1. wird hier keiner verarscht!

2. ändert deine pentrante art und weise zu meckern auch nichts an der tatsache das es wohl noch einen moment dauert.

3. jeder version ist updatefähig also heißt das im fazit die funktionen können erweitert werden. und wenn du das nicht verstsht tut es mir auch leid.

4. es gab seit der 27.8.2004 version immerwieder kleine updates, patches.. teilweise wurden sogar mal schnell forumswünsche umgesetzt. such das mal woanders.

5. es kommt keine 1.2 sondern eine 2.0

6. wie du es bereits erkannt hast wird keine müll version rausgebracht sonden eine so stabile version wie es auch nur geht.

7. und bei so agressiven nörglern wie dir würde ich an olis stelle keine bock mehr haben was zu machen! aber zum glück ist oliver nicht so wie ich!

und jetzt kannst du nochmal in dich gehen und überlegen was du hier so die ganze zeit abläßt!

p.s. if there is somebody who can translate that in english i would be happy!

Eigentlich sollte man hier erst mal 2 Stunden Pause dazwischenschreiben, damit der Rauch abdampft

Enttäuschung: Hier steckt die Lösung im Wort: Ent-täuschung, die Täuschung wurde aufgehoben, also klarer Blick voraus.

Kunden denen ich ein CMS auf OpenSource Basis anbiete, werden ich im vorraus sagen, dass es keine fixen Entwicklungszyklen gibt wie bei kommerzieller Software. Punkt.

Wenn dann ein Kunde aber alle Features haben möchte und auch alle Möglichkeiten und dann sofort, muss ein anderes Produkt verwendet werden.

Für das muss der Kunde dann eben die Zeit und die Kosten bezahlen.
Und das will er meist nicht.

Wieder Enttäuschung - also neuen Kunden suchen oder erklären, wie die Zusammenhänge sind.

Alles andere führt nur zu Frust und keiner Freude und Spaß am Arbeiten.

Und sicher auch zu berücksichtigen ist, dass es neben den neuen Funktionen auch der Dokumentation, dem Debugging, der Sprachvielfalt etc. bedarf und das nimmt erfahrungsgemäß mindestens die Hälfte der Zeit in Anspruch.
