404 Not Found - index.php - 1.3.5

Post by design »

Hi!
I notice this problem:
I upgrade my site from 1.3.3 to 1.3.5
Everything is ok, I see my site perfecty with all kind of browsers and all things work fine!
But, if I validate my site with W3C validator the result is:

I got the following unexpected response when trying to retrieve <http://www.mydomain.com>:

404 Not Found

the same result if I validate:
http://www.mydomain.com
http://www.mydomain.com/index.php

BUT, if I try to validate an adress like this:
http://www.mydomain.com/index.php?contact
there is not problem

All my sites 1.3.5 have this problem
My sites 1.3.3 are ok.

Can you please try to validate your 1.3.5 (only domain or index.php and not using an internal address) and tell me if you have the same problem?

I found this error 404 Not Found with the google webmaster's tools too! Google say that he can't find my page index.php.

what happens? As i said everything seems ok. I see all my pages with browsers, but is not the same for google and W3C!!!

I've just tried it and with me it is the other way round: domain.tld/index.php is found but all links are 404 errors (index.php?alias)
Version is latest from 29-10-07

Edit: Doesn't matter if rewrite is on or off - strange

Edit: checked some other pages around here (135) - all the same. I bet that google will dislike this verrry much, won't it?

Edit again: A site of mine running 1.3.5 (2007/07/31) is fine...

fooled myself    sorry for that alarm: if there is no article (or redirect) within a structure it will -of course- find exactly what's there: just nothing...
I see all my pages with browsers
and all have content to show?

For me all sites using 1.3.5 - 07/10/29 are running well. There are no problems with google or the validator.

yes, all have content!

there wasn't the article in index (root). All contents I need in that page was in the template. So in the index (http://www.mydomain.com/index.php) there wasn't a real content (article).
Now, I insert a blank article in the root and the W3C validation is OK.
No more 404 error.

But with google webmasters tool, the problem go on.
google say: INDEX STATUS: can't access to your page (404)
my site is verified.

Maybe this is a google problem. Maybe cache?
