Superuser settings:Error Message There is a database problem

Post by jorge »

Hi there,

I'm trying to install PHPWCMS VERSION 1.2.9, RELEASE 2007/02/22 and can't get over step # 6 "Superuser settings" I'm entering all the required fields and when I click "continue" I get the error message "There is a database problem!" "Account for user admin was not created or updated. Click continue to try again."

Any idea what the cause of this could be? I would appreciate your feedback!

cheers!

You need to have all patches ftp'ed above your release and rerun the setup script.

thanks for the fast response, but that's what I've done already.
To the 20070226_pre129 package, I've added the 3 patches in the order of their release (20070222_pre129_Patch20070226 then 20070226_pre129_Patch20070227 and 20070226_pre129_Patch20070301) ftp'ed everything, but no success: I can't get over step # 6

What could be the reason for the error message?

I'm getting the exact same problem, done all of the above and am getting the same error message, haven't found a solution yet, have you?

Would like to get this up and running to see what it really looks like.

Thanks in advance

I think I've sussed it!

This may or may not work for you but this is what I did to get around the above problem, and it worked!

1) Remove all files from webserver
2) On your local pc, unzip all files, including patches
3) Replace all the original files with the patches where nesacerry
4) Upload compleate package onto your webserver

This worked for me, see if it does for you

That's what I've already tried, but no success for me.

I've tried to install phpwcms twice and exactly did what you are suggesting, but unfortunately no luck

maybe files are missing or your db settings are wrong. First proof if you have created a database and phpwcms database scheme exists.

...clicking on the phpMyAdmin DB on the server helped; I could complete the superuser settings.

thanks for your support!
