I Have installed phpwcms via Fantastico Cpanel

Post by VIOTEXN »

I Have installed phpwcms via Fantastico Cpanel. Will I have problems in future with updates or other issues?
My only problem for them moments is that in the phpwcms I can write and read greek characters but in the database I can't read the greek characters (I use phpadmin of my ISP hosting provider). They look like ##and other strange characters. Can I do anything?

What version You use

i think that in fantastico is old release ( 1.1-RC4 )
so best thing to do before you start install new version

and use UTF-8 coding ( also in setup procedure u have other option for character coding )

Best regards

Here is in short

1) Uninstall older version using fantastico

then read this installation guide before you start

http://www.phpwcms-docu.de/installation_en.phtml

also you can check this link too

what you have found in database are entity encoded chars. This is how special chars are used when no matching charset in browser is used.

It's not recommend to use Fantastico install. There is no support for Fantastico users.
