@Oliver: I did some debugging on the console of my server and I think the problem is within Imagemagick ...specific the delegation structure. It seems that JPG (and PNG) aren't supported by default.

I think that is really strange but ok it so. The command to check out the supported formats is 'convert -list format' . Maybe you can use it within PHP to check if Imagemagick is correctly installed and supported.

My ISP will take a look coming Monday and I hope that the problem will be solved.

Hm, what the hell is this for an ImageMagick installation that does not support JPG and PNG - general web image formats? Hm.

I'm working on GD thumbnail function at the moment. But this would support JPG/PNG only.

That's right Oliver but maybe (maybe) my ISP made an mistake with the installation. I truly hope so ...

The GD conversion sounds good. I'm trying convert it too ...but it is taking me some time to understand your coding.
