Database Table

I am a bit of a newbie at this so pardon my ignorance.

During the installation, I can not get past "create all db tables". the information being entered appears correct. Permissions are correct. My database is named benchmar_authuser -- Should I assign an initial table to this database?

Error Message:

Warning: mysql_pconnect() [function.mysql-pconnect]: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/benchmar/public_html/phpcms/setup/setup.php on line 54

Warning: mysql_select_db(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/benchmar/public_html/phpcms/setup/setup.php on line 58

Not sure where the problem exists.

Hi bench1254,

first you must create the db "benchmar_authuser" via phpMaAdmin.

I have done that. PhpMyAdmin is showing it created in left column with 0 tables.

I am trying to shut off the globals at this point in the .htaccess file.

would this help?

Hi,

it is recommended to login into database not as root, but as user with the correct login data of a before created (if not existant) user
