Post non-phpwcms related topics here - but I don't want to see "hey check this or that other cms". Post if you have a point or worthwhile comment, don't post just to increase you post count!
I'm absolutley new to this system and from what i've seen it really looks like something i'd like to learn.
I've seen many beautiful sites in the "sites you are proud of" thread and i'm a bit confused now, when i've installed the system and start i don't have any start layout at all.. just a blank page.
Are there any templates i can download somewhere that i can start with?
I just found how to download from that german site with free templates, i'll try it out... very exiting
Anyone knows if there's any future plans for an easier template handling for phpwcms? like put a folder with a template and select it from control panel without having to add all the numbers manually.
Regards

I think there is planed a basic template during installatation.
The templates are stored in the db.
For advanced user: They can use the switch "custom (from template main block)" at page layout -> rendering: - And put the whole source into the main: area at the section template.
So you'll create your Layout with e.g. dreamweaver and fill in the placeholders for the content like {HEADER} {LEFT} {CONTENT} {RIGHT} {FOOTER} and your own custom blocks e.g. {MYBLOCK1}.
For every side you can create an own template if you want.
At the section "site structure" you must allocate the template to the category.
phpwcms looks very exiting... but as allways highly confusing when you're not used to how things work
But i now have some starting things ot learn with.
