Menu Manager

Post by tinoo »

Just in case that some of the cracks feels boring waiting for release 1.3

... a menu manager for creating customized menus would be nice. I see a simple "drag&drop" system, where i can pick the categories, articles and what ever i want to show in the custom menu and bring them in the order i want... The sytem then links the menupoints to what ever i selected...

wysiwig-css-formatting would be great, too!

Would be easy to create simple top menus like "home | sitemap | contact" and so on without the need of "hardcoding" links like this...

http://www.phpwcms.de/forum/viewtopic.p ... c&start=15

Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein. - H. Jackson Brown -

thanks anyway - but still i don't get it... the topic is about a dhtml-menu...

i'm talking about a tool to create custom menus out of the given sitestructure. an example to show what i think:

home
-level1
-level2
--level21
---article211
-level3

Now i maybe need a small menu containing only home, level1 and level3. This could be used for a small topmenu in the very top of the page. On the
left side i need the whole sitestructure, where i can use dhmtlmenu, nav_table_column and so on.

So my idea is just a tool to drag&drop levels out of the sitestructure into a field (-> the new custom menu), order them (up/down), and then the tool takes the leveltitles and links them to the original sitelevels...

This would be a very flexible menuhandling system. Because on every site you have single links like sitemap, Impressum, Disclaimer and so on. All this kind of links must now be "hardcoded" in the template... Or you have to do "handstands" to create menus with certains level _not_ displayed...
