[SOLVED] local back-end login doesn't work

hi all,

I have a weird problem, I've bene trying for a while to fix, but still haven't figured out what goes wrong.

I installed PHPWCM v1.2.1Dev on a Win2000 server last year, and it's been running perfectly. It suits my needs rather well, and I can administer my client's website remotely.

A while ago, I had a meeting at my client for some website changes, and tried to log on to PHPWCMS on the server it was installed on. It wouldn't, and still won't, let me in. I keep getting back to the login page.

So, I went home, used the same user/password combination, and presto, it works like a charm.

For some reason, trying to log on locally on the Win2000 server to PHPWCMS, doesn't work for me. I can see that session files are being written to the php\sessiondata directory, however, either PHPWCMS or PHP itself doesn't pick up the right session file when working locally.

Again, I can log on to PHP remotely WIHTOUT ANY PROBLEM.

Has anyone encountered this before, and if yes, how did you solve it (if you managed to solve it at all)?

Please don't say to upgrade to 1.2.6, because that is not a solution to my problem. That's the same as upgrading your Win2000 machine to XP because your Notepad wasn't working...

did you change something!? did you have an firewall installed!? wich will block the refferrer!?

brilliant, I never even thought of that.

temporarilly shutdown the firewall running on the machine, and indeed, it worked like a charm.
