Instalation problem

Post by culda_a »

I upload all on server and start to instal the script, is all ok until the part where I have to set the user and password for the admin section, I get always this message:

system: Linux dns.dotboost.com 2.6.10-1.771_FC2smp #1 SMP Mon Mar 28 01:10:51 EST 2005 i686
server: Apache/2.0.51 (Fedora)
php: v4.4.1
path: /home/httpd/vhosts/wd-media.com/httpdocs//wdr
php.ini: register_globals = On -> should always be set Off because of security risks
safe_mode = Off -> good when you want to use ImageMagick, may have some security risks

Check your admin user name and password!

I enter severel times a few usernames an password but allways the same problem.... what do I do wrong?

I would say that the phpWCMS archive packages are *RIPE* for a README.txt file... don't you think???

You have not created any content... DUH. :o
Goto the links in my signature ! :P

Which WYSIWYG editor are you using? The buttons or file manager? Right-click on the placeholder for missing image and choose properties. Check the reported path to that image and see if it points to the valid folder?
Sounds like it could be a problem with PATHs in your "config.inc.php".
Or maybe... to do with $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']

Post the contents of your "config.inc.php" (without username/pass) so we can see what editor you have chosen and what paths are entered. What browser are you using? Have you tried turning off your firewall and/or antivirus (for a few minutes) ??

One safe suggestion is to drop all tables in the MySQL database, goto the setup folder (or restore it... if "deleted") and re-run the install. But make sure to checkmark the create Admin Account and leave the "default" username/password until you can login and such. Then worry about changing login/pass.

It could be refined over time, of course, but even just the *basics* from:

http://www.phpwcms-docu.de/installation_en.phtml

Perhaps "text only" for README and possibility for HTML (like GPL.txt and GPL.html )
