Cannot change information for home level

I have been running the latest release of phpwcms for sometime now and recently made a number of changes to my site but cannot change details about the home level ie: change of template or anything else...

I have tried searching but found no results.
Does someone know what the problem might be?

Check the permisssions for /config/phpwcms/conf.indexpage.inc.php. They need to be 777, as this is where the things you mention are stored.
