Comment mod

Post custom hacks and enhancements for phpwcms here only. Maybe some of these things will be included in official release later.

Comment mod

Post by Kvist »

There are a few pretty good comment mods out there but I would like to urge all you code horny/gifted people out there to come up with a comment replacement tag. In stead of having to create a comment cnt.part every time you post an article, it would be cool if your could just add {COMMENT} to the template. Maybe something in flash that expands within the article or something.

If anyone should come up with something like this then they'd reach god status in my book!!!

Hi Kvist,

no need to make a RT, I mean, would be usefull (so you can use it in your templates ;) but you can also use the feature ID alias (from 1.2.6, maybe before I don't remember)
You make an article with the comment CONTENT PART, you put it as "invisible" in your site structure and then you simply call it as ID alias content part instead of copy/past the COMMENT content part it an all your articles.
Quicker and easier.

Cheers

Thanks Kosse!

Well the problem would be that the same comment cnt.prt. is used for all articles. That is no good since they need individual IDs.

Hi,

I hope someone writes a MOD for comments or we get a real comment content part with an option to vote for the article/link/download whatever.
So the webmaster/we get a tool like them in Amazon.
Or like this...

Article Headline
Sub-Headline

Article Text Article Text Article Text Article Text
Article Text Article Text Article Text Article Text
Article Text Article Text Article Text Article Text
Article Text Article Text Article Text Article Text

Comments (3) <-- Link (opens a site/popup with the three comments or displays after one click the three comments under the article)

An other way: Instead of Comments (3) it would be an option to display only a link >comment the article< (opens a popup window) and the comments are listed under the article.
